Welcome to BusinessButter.com!

This blog is written by Jacqui Jones and Dan Sargeant who are based in Auckland, New Zealand. Our goal is to provide accessible business advice to those who are either thinking about starting a business, those who have just made their first steps into their own business and those who have been in the game for a number of years.

You will find that many of the blog entries on BusinessButter.com are about online business opportunities, marketing, technology and sustainability as these topics are what we feel most passionate about. Other topics include staff management, streamlining of operations processes, strategies for increasing revenues and improving profitability.

We aim to provide information that is insightful, practical and that is a thought-starter to other ideas that you may have as a result.

Jacqui Jones:

Jacqui currently works for Netconcepts.com, a natural search and Internet marketing consultancy. As one of the company’s lead consultants she has provided strategic Internet marketing advice to US Top 500 Retailer brands and leading online brands in New Zealand.

Her background has included running her own Internet marketing and web development company for 6 years which employed 8 full time staff plus contractors. She was also Product Manager for an email marketing communications company MessageMedia in New Zealand and managed the foundation online advertising network for Xtra.co.nz (which is now YahooXtra!). Prior to managing businesses and specialising in Internet marketing, Jacqui started her career in the Film and Television industry in Brisbane, Australia working on TVC production.

Dan Sargeant:

Dan is currently employed as a senior developer by StaffCV Ltd., which provide state of the art recruitment software solutions including the infamous website QuietAgent. He specializes in Microsoft technologies, although is equally comfortable with open-source programming.

He started his 10 year software development career in the UK as a contractor and has programmed for companies throughout the world, spanning many industries including public transport, advertising, interior design and charity organizations.
